eHealthLab Ethiopia is a Centre of Excellence in Health Informatics established in collaboration with Federal Ministry of Health and the University of Gondar to develop/adopt, evaluate, and support the implementation of innovative health information technologies in the health sector. The center will also conduct embedded researches on health information technologies and Health system strengthening to facilitate the achievement of the information revolution agenda in the country.
At eHealthLab Ethiopia, we believe that the future depends on innovation and creativity, and our team conducts cutting-edge research in health information systems in collaboration with different national and international partners. We also train Health informatics professionals from bachelors to PhD for sustainable capacity building in health information system in the country. In our training programs, we strive to make our students capable of thinking outside of the box to be able to solve complex problems through practical, multidisciplinary and hands-on training and field experiences. We promote crosscutting initiatives with other disciplines including Computer Science, Public Health, Medicine, and Engineering. Our students and faculty have access to the most up to date knowledge, tools and skills for working on large scale health informatics projects with unrestricted access to University of Gondar Specialized Hospital and high tech ICT facility access at the university ICT Directorate.
As a center of excellence established by FMOH to collaboratively achieve the information revolution agenda in the country, We strongly believe and acts on the power of collaboration, and the center has multiple global partners as well as an established relationship with different partners including WHO, Gates Foundation, CDC, and others. Our partnership projects with the ministry like CBMP, DUP, and others ensure that our students have on the ground experience which will make them ready upon graduation with the most up to date skills and knowledge necessary to support the health system with creativity.
