The eHealth Innovation and Research center is implementing the Health Information System Capacity Building and Mentorship Partnership (CBMP) and the Data Use Partnership (DUP) projects in collaboration with Federal Ministry of Health, Amhara and Benshangul Gumuz RHBs, JSI and other partners with funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), FMOH, and the Doris Duke Foundation (DDCF). The main aim of the projects is to support the implementation of the information revolution vision in selected demonstration woreda’s through Capacity Building, Training (both preservice and in-service) and Implementation Science research. As part of the Implementation Science Research imitative under the DDCF grant, we plan to provide research grant support for up to three master students in this academic year to generate research evidences relevant to the national information revolution objectives on the following thematic areas.

Thematic Areas:

  1. Health Data Quality, and Information Use Culture
  2. Digital Health (mHealth, TeleMedicine, EMR, eCHIS, DHIS2, HRIS): (Topics might include digital literacy, Attitude, Acceptance, Usability, Utilization, Feasibility Evaluation. etc )
  3. Health information flow at different levels and role of supportive supervision and performance mentoring teams in increasing data use and information culture
  4. Health Information System Strengthening (Health service quality, HIS Policy Analysis, Health IT, Economic Evaluations)
  5. Health system research
  6. Implementation science research
  7. Other related topics proposed by applicants

Study Area: Amhara and Benishangul Gumuz region

Eligible applicants: All 2nd year MSc and MPH students under Institute of Public Health who are interested in the thematic areas can apply.

Funding Amount: The proposed budget will be revised and supplemented based on the actual cost of the research.

Application Process and Dates: Students should submit a concept note of not more than 3 pages with research question, objective, methodology and proposed budget from Feb 2-13/2022 at the eHealth Innovation center located in front of CMHS Library.
